research and development

The growth of any company is generated through research, the implementation of new materials and concepts and the constant quest for improving the product. At KarbonDesign we firmly believe in the importance of research and development for continuous growth and improvement of our racquets.

There are several concepts in constant evolution at KarbonDesing to make our racquets as reliable as possible.

At our R & D department we constantly work on the following tests:

Balance
By measuring the balance we can endow our racquets with more control or more power. With a balance of 25 cms we obtain Control and up to 28cms we obtain Power.

Flex Frame
By measuring the flex of the frame, we can figure out the flexibility supporting the central frame of the racquet. By applying a certain power at the heart of the racquet we are able to control the flexibility there in order to ensure its rigidity and its non-breakage.

Rigidity
By measuring the rigidity of the front of the racquet, we can determine the flexibility supporting the central part of the racquet. By applying a determined force in the heart of the racquet, we control the flexibility of the different components there in order to ensure its rigidity and non-breakage.

Inertia
By measuring the inertia we can determine the state of the racquet in motion; this repetitive lateral movement achieves a better performance of the racquet, together with different compositions. Greater inertia will result in a racquet with greater performance.
Obviously there are other distinguishing characteristics when making a racquet:
The shape of the racquet

Obviously there are other distinguishing characteristics when making a racquet:

The shape of the racquet
This determines part of its characteristics. A round-shaped racquet offers more control since it has more contact surface. A pear-shaped racquet offers more power due to its compacter surface.

The composition
It will give the racquet its characteristics and consists of the different types of foam, the different fabrics, the tubulars, the shape and the types of Epoxy. The selection of each of the different types of components results in different types of racquets.

The combination of materials and characteristics will determine the final weight of the racquet. From 345 grams (for juniors and women) to 375 grams (for men).
